APRS DISCUSSION WORKSHOP

MARKET... OR DIE?

22-Sep-2008

Marketing and PR Evening

upstairs at
The Bath House,
96 Dean Street,
London W1

Monday, 22 September from 7.00 pm
at The Bath House (upstairs), 96 Dean Street, London W1

In today's climate, it is vital to ensure your existing and potential clients know who you are, how to contact you and, of course, that they are aware of your products and services.  If no-one knows about you, your business will simply whittle away and die.

There are many ways to market yourself and some of them don't cost a penny ... others do, but how do you decide what to spend your valuable budget on?

The APRS has put together a dream panel hosted by Nick Dimes, Director, Zoo Communications, which includes:

  • Chris Hook, Managing Director, HLA Marketing Support
  • Matt Bell, Managing Director, Direct Red Media
  • Tony Andrews, Marketing Consultant
  • Nick Cook, European Marketing Director, Yamaha Commercial Audio.

Nick Dimes will start the evening with an overview of what marketing is all about and it's relevance to business today. He’ll briefly go through the various Rules. As this is a big subject, each panelist will chat in greater detail about specific topics.

Matt Bell's speciality will be Press Releases - what makes a newsworthy story, how to construct a press release, where and how to send it, what to do after it's been delivered. Matt will illustrate this by writing a release on the evening using a prepared example.

Chris Hook will talk about Newsletters, including the pro's and con's of this medium. Chris will touch on the power of a newsletter, how to format and construct them, why they are a powerful marketing tool  and  the best delivery method, etc

Tony Andrews will discuss the 21st century tool of Digital Content, including websites, e-news, rich media, etc.  Tony will also describe the various methods and formats and advise on which are the most effective in getting your message across.

Nick Cook will present a case study on how a company like Yamaha approaches and implements a marketing schedule.

Nick Dimes will then field any questions from the floor.

Come and join us .... it's FREE and the APRS are throwing in a couple of drinks and something to eat!
