PAD MEMBERSHIP
For pressers and duplicators
Until the late 1980s, the duplicating and pressing industry had no organisation to represent its interests, although some companies belonged to the APRS. The introduction of the Copyright and Patents Act brought interested parties together, to address its implications. Out of these meetings, PAD was formed as a separate APRS group, representing CD replication plants, cassette duplicators and record pressers. PAD has since extended its scope to include businesses such as printers, plastics and tape suppliers, in a category designated Network Membership, which is also open to overseas manufacturing plants with offices in the UK, and brokerage firms.
PAD members are recognised as epitomising the best in business practice, professional standards and quality procedures. Established since 1990, this category has contributed regularly to the process of controlled change, seeking always to improve levels of competency, introduce new technology, and develop industry expertise.
