APRS NEWS: NIMIC RECORDING & PRODUCTION MASTERCLASSES
The Northern Ireland Music Industry Commission presents a Recording and Studio Production Masterclasses in association with The Music Producer's Guild The Northern Ireland Music Industry Commission are set to host two exclusive recording and studio production masterclasses on Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th March 2005. In association with the Music Producer's Guild they are providing a fantastic opportunity for professional and aspiring sound engineers and record producers based in Northern Ireland to learn from heavyweight producers, Phil Harding and Tony Platt. Phil Harding is one of the UK's leading pop producers, with over 30 years' experience. He has produced and remixed hits for The Clash, Pet Shop Boys, Donna Summer, Kylie Minogue, East 17 (including No.1 single 'Stay Another Day') and Boyzone (including No.1 hit single 'Words'). Tony Platt has been described as one of the world's greatest rock producers and his credits include Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Paul McCartney, Bob Marley, Iron Maiden and Motorhead. The masterclass will involve Harding and Platt providing a complete rundown of their own landmark hits and their approach to the recording and production process, and offering some key tricks of the trade. The events take place on Thursday 3rd March at The Nerve Centre, Derry (1pm - 6pm); and Friday 4th March at The Sonic Arts Research Centre at Queens University, Belfast (10.30am 4.30pm) NB: The masterclass is free of admission.
