APRS NEWS
CROSSRAIL
For the last couple of years the APRS has been working with UK Post (now called UK Screen) to ensure that the building and running of the proposed Crossrail underground railway tunnels would not have a negative effect upon the many recording and post-production studios in the Soho area of central London. The Crossrail Bill has been introduced to Parliament as a 'Hybrid Bill" This is a procedural device that is often applied to large institutional projects that are to be governed by a special authority which the government has appointed. The rules surrounding lobbying for changes to a hybrid bill has meant that a team of parliamentary solicitors have had to be employed to couch the petition specialist parliamentary language.
