APRS FELLOWSHIPS 2008: NOMINATIONS
Last year, the APRS inaugurated its ‘Sound Fellowships’ at a very enjoyable lunchtime celebration at the spectacular Roof Gardens in Kensington. To mark this special occasion, Sir George Martin, APRS President, presented Chris Blackwell, Sean Davies, Alan Parsons, Keith Grant, Glyn Johns and Ken Townsend with their Fellowships. This year, the APRS Board have decided to involve the entire APRS membership in the process of nominating candidates to form the initial ‘long list’. There are no categories of Fellowship – APRS Members are simply invited to choose six individuals who they think should be: “Recognised for their special contribution to the art, science and industry of sound recording”. The focus should be on “achievement” and “innovation”. The nominees could be inventors, manufacturers, legendary studio engineers, maintenance Gods, producers, artists, managers, broadcasters - anyone at all who has had a positive impact upon the recording sector as a whole … and they don’t have to be close to retirement!! 6 Nominations for 6 Annual Awards only Awards Academy Annual Fellowship Lunch Presentation APRS contact: Francesca Smith |
