The BASF funding will allow Re-Pro International to develop their INTERNET site, to attend the AES conventions and to set up forum meetings for producers in every member country. In addition the BASF funding will support the efforts that sound directors are making to to remedy the anachronisms that exist in European copyright laws.

Re-Pro International was launched at the 99th AES Convention in New York last October and has attracted affiliations from G.O.N.G. (The Netherlands), G.R.A.F.(France),VDT (Germany), OTMV(Austria), ASD (Russia), Re-Pro Italia (Italy) and Re-Pro (UK). It is hoped that Danish sound directors will take the opportunity provided by the AES Convention in Copenhagen to form themselves into a new Danish organisation and the Swedish engineers organisation, S.E.E.S. is expected meet the existing Re-Pro International members to discuss whether an affiliation would be of mutual interest. Re-Pro International is also hoping to confirm its contacts with the Chinese engineer's organisation C.A.R.E.

James Rattray, BASF Product Manager - Audio Studio, who is based at the company's Ludwigshaven headquarters in Germany said "We are pleased to have an opportunity to reinforce our relationship with studio producers. We have always respected the valuable role that the producer plays in the recording process and agree that that role can only grow in importance in the future."
