APRS CELEBRATES 60 YEARS

To celebrate 60 years of representing the professional recording industry the APRS is holding a series of events throughout 2007.

Keep an eye on this page for news of past and future events...

January

25-Jan-2007

upstairs at The Bath House,
96 Dean Street, London W1

"Alternative Burns Night"
Our opening event of the year was a fun evening of anecdotes and reminiscences, but there were also some positive thoughts about the future of the industry. The evening was well attended and highly appreciated by all who came along.

We assembled an illustrious panel consisting of Tony Platt, Malcolm Atkin, Ken Townsend, Dave Harries and our own illustrious chairman David Hamilton-Smith, all of whom were later joined by Keith Grant.

Even if these names mean little to you, don't worry, you will be amazed by the breadth of their experiences and the evening was peppered with the most wonderful anecdotes, each illustrating how much fun was to be had once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away, in an industry which never really concerned itself about such mundane things as budgets and accountants.

These files are just the highlights - there's other stuff I don't think we dare publish! Next time do please come along in person!

Hear about an industry in which luck played a starring role and fortune was in the back row of the chorus... hear why AIR studios had shit coming out of the monitors, hear Keith Grant's violin story first-hand, and discover more about the legendary Maurice Dolby!
