Unless you tweak the defaults in Outlook Express you will be sending email which is formatted in HTML. HTML is the hypertext mark-up language used for website pages and can't be read by all email programs.

To adjust this setting, take the following steps:

  1. From the Tools menu in in Outlook Express select Options
  2. Click on the Send tab
  3. Under Mail Sending format select Plain text
  4. Press OK
